LAN Party time!!!!!!!! Hope to see everyone this evening! The LAN Party begins at 6:30 pm tonight. If you need directions feel free to call ###-#### or here is a map (come around to the back!). We still have some spots so if anyone has friends that would like to come at the last minute bring them along :)
Some of us will be setting up around noon time today and if you would like to help or stop by feel free to do so!!! Any help is appreciated. I'll keep the Registration Form up until around noon time today. Remember to check out the FAQ page for any last minute questions you may have.
We'll also be taking some pictures so make sure to bring your rigged' out case and get some pics of it, heck maybe even you ;) to show it of on the website after the event!! Now you can actually show off the hard work or...umm.... yeah.... "money spent" on your sweet arse neon-glowing-freon-cooled-subzero-temp case!! See you tonight!
Happy
Gaming!!!!!!!!

Well its three days left until the LAN Party! Hope everyone has been practicing up on Unreal Tournament 2003! I've updated the event information. Check it out when you can. It has the times of the events, etc... etc... I'm also working on the media section to provide links for the games we will be playing where you can download the current patch and any extra add-on's currently available!

I've changed the logon process to the message board. You will need to create a user account if you don't already have one if you wish to view or post on the message board now. Make sure to add LANicide to your community after creating the account. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'm doing this for tracking reasons and to see how many people are actually using the message board and interested in what's going on.

Well we now have the possibility of a new location with more room (75-100 easily if we ever even need it!) and probably much better power routing and circuits for the event. I will be checking into this place soon and I'll let you all know how it marks up ;) Thanks to ripcurl9494 (Chad) for reserving this location for us! The registration list right now stands at about 30 people MAX. If we need to up the number of spots on the list this new place will more than likely be set in stone for the location. We'll see if we even get to 30 people first.
At the current location we need a few more spare 20/30 amp circuits to give us the amount of power we need which "hopefully" will not be a problem. We have enough for around 30 systems so far but better safe than sorry. I'll keep the 3 people posted that visit this each day ;)
On another note here's a few tech news articles that might interest some of you ĝЄЄк$ out there:

Well, I received email last night that nVidia will be our next sponsor! They are sending out a few goodies this time like case badges, stickers, glow badges and some posters... Hopefully our first event will be a success and we'll see where the relationship may grow with future events. Make sure to check out nVidia's site!
Everything so far is going pretty steady for the event (keeps fingers crossed). I want to get some people together for a meeting this Friday night and maybe have a "trial" run with at least 5 or 6 systems and go over a few last minute details for LANicide. If you are interested in joining in please do so. I'll have info about the meeting posted under the "Announcements" section of the message board today. Also if you have ANY good links for me to add to the links section email them to me! I'm always looking for good sites to bookmark... funny or serious or whatever! I'll throw the link up here. The links section is where I'm adding my personal links but I'll be glad to add others as well...

It's 2 weeks today until LANicide so get practicing!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Eat as much as you can and get stuffed so you'll splatter that much better when you get fragged!! ;) Enjoy the holiday! Yes I know my festive colors are a bit bright but hey... it's Thanksgiving!!! Everyone feel free to let me know how the site functions for you. I still have a few concerns with the site but I will not point them out now ;) The Registration Page will be live today 11/27/2003 (evening) so make sure to check back and Register ASAP (a BIG thanks to CodeWolf for working on this!). The form will be limited to 30 people at first so make sure to reserve your spot!
Check out Faite 911's UT2003 test server and give him some feedback. Check the message boards for further info... However you can get to the test server by using this link in your web browser on a system with UT2003 installed, or just click the link: unreal://pcportz.myftp.org/
I'll email everyone as soon as the Registration Page becomes available....
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I haven't finished the Registration Page yet but will have it up soon I promise! I am also working on the Requirements Form today so hopefully it will be up soon as well. Didn't have much time this weekend to get much on the site done, sometimes real life intervenes ;) Faite has been testing out a stats logger for UT2003. Look for a link on the message board soon from Faite so you can connect and test it out whenever you want.
I'll be posting more today so check back................

The meeting last night went quite well. We covered a lot of ground and concerns about the upcoming LANicide event. Thanks to everyone who came and the suggestions/ideas from all of you last night. We will be having another meeting next Friday 11/28 at the same location and time. I will post info for it on the message board again. I will have the Registration Form up this weekend so make sure to register and feel free to tell some friends.
We are limiting (at first) the attendance to 30 people. This weekend I will also have the first revision (of possibly many!) of the Requirements/Information list of what YOU ;) will need to bring etc... I'm contacting more sponsors today to see what the chances are of us getting more sponsorship(s). It may be to close to the event to expect more sponsors but we'll find out! Just incase you haven't noticed, we have gotten a sponsorship from Bawls so, support your Bawls firmly and click the banner on the right to visit their site! ;)

I will have the LANicide Event Registration form up by Monday here on the website. CodeWolf (Brian) will be helping me out with the form I need this weekend while we sit and watch movies and get fatter ;) Thanks!! Feel free to invite your friends to sign up. There will be a short meeting tonight at 8pm organizing the LAN party if you are interested in helping out, details on the message board under the "Announcements" section. Bawls.com will be the first sponsor for the event so get some Bawls and check out their site! ;)

It looks like the power concerns I was having about the church are not going to be a problem now :) We should be able to have pretty much as many people as we want. Also, Jeff from the church said he would be glad to differentiate and help run the power from different circuits and he wouldn't mind being there during LANicide incase we ran into any problems...
Also, we now have a new message board.... check it out Here, or of course click on the Message Board link ;)

Check out the message board
. I've posted some info on changing the board to a different host since basically the one I am using right now.. umm... bites. Also, make sure you check out Kat5Kaos, and thanks to RedZot for his offer to help with the LAN Party! It is greatly appreciated. Once I find out more information I'll be sure to post it up for ya'll.~m0nK

Today is one month until LANicide! :) We are needing some type of logo for the event and if I get shirts or hats I'll have a logo(s) printed on them. I'll have a link soon to the Logo Contest section. I could use some help getting some of this done so if anyone is willing to put some time aside to help out please tell me what you could help out with, I'm probably not going to be able to do everything I want to by myself so any help is appreciated. Any areas you feel that you might be able to help out with please do! I could definitely use some help in these areas:
Pricing, etc... for shirts/hats w/logo's
Game Tournament organization (UT2k3 dedicated server setup and configuration for logging player stats)
FYI, Soon I'll be putting some links in the MEDIA area for downloading the latest video drivers, game patches, etc...

I have a few ideas for the main prize so I figured I would jot them down, if you have any other suggestions for the main prize I'll be glad to hear em'. (Remember the prize(s) depend on the turnout we have for the first LANicide so feel free to tell your friends about it)
Also, if anyone has "friends" that may be able to get any extra "stuff" cheap or free for the LAN party please contact me.

Well here goes day number 2 for the website... I'll be testing out the circuit breakers at my church sometime this week to make sure we have efficient enough power to run everyone's pc's. Depending on what I find out I may have to "can" the use of powered speakers and have headphones only being used or maybe self-powered speakers (powered by batteries or powered by the pc itself... yeah... basically cheap arse speakers!). I doubt the church will be a permanent location where I hold the LAN party's each time so all of you keep your eyes out for another location that may be of interest and of course cheap to rent!
Oh... Don't forget to check out the message board and create yourself an account. Sometime this week (or weekend) I'll be putting together a checklist of what everyone will be required to bring if attending (surge protectors, cables, etc...). I'll make sure to send out an email to everyone after I get the list created and put up on the site. While your here check out the City of Heroes site. It looks to be a promising game!

OK... As you can see the site is finally up! A big thanks to good ole' Brent for all the help. Make sure you visit his site http://www.brentandrachel.com. I'll be adding/changing content over the next few weeks and try to keep everyone updated. Check out the site and If any of you have suggestions feel free to let me know.
As for now the LAN party is still slated for December 12th (considering everything goes as planned with the location and necessities). I will have a check list together ASAP of what people need to have with them. If anyone has equipment they can lend out it would be greatly appreciated however, I'm fairly sure I have most of it covered but extra "stuff" never hurts!! Be sure to click on the voting poll and choose the game you would most like to play (Yes, of course, duh... there will be more than one!), or if you have suggestions for other games to play email me. Make your way over to the Message Board and feel free to discuss whatever you'd like.....
